FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Are you currently taking new bookings for dental health and oral function support?

Yes. I’m currently accepting new bookings for children’s oral health consultations (ages 0–17) and oral function consultations (ages 1–17). All appointments are offered online, making it easy for families across Australia to access support for dental health, oral hygiene, tooth decay concerns, oral habits, breathing patterns and early oral development.

Appointments are available here.

If you’re unsure which consultation is right for your child, feel free to complete a contact form at the bottom of this page or book a free 10 minute discovery call.

What ages do you work with?

The Face Place supports children from birth to 17 years, with a strong focus on early intervention during the toddler and preschool years.
Each service and resource is tailored to your child’s stage of development, helping you feel confident at every step.

Do I need a referral to book a consultation?

No referral is needed. You can book a telehealth consultation directly through The Face Place.
Our online appointments are designed to give parents practical, professional guidance without the wait.

Do you offer programs for Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (OMT/Myo)?

Yes, but only if it's the right fit.
Careful screening is important to make sure your child is ready for a formal program. Many children make great progress with simple strategies, education, and the right referrals before jumping into therapy.

OMT is also not suitable for children under 5.

Where do you offer your services?

The Face Place provides online oral health consultations to families Australia-wide through secure telehealth appointments (this is called Teledentistry).

Whether you’re in a city, regional area, or remote community, you can access personalised guidance from an Oral Health Therapist from the comfort of your own home.

Can I book a consultation if I live outside Australia?

One-on-one consultations are available to families living in Australia only.
However, you’re welcome to explore our digital guides and resources, which are relevant to families anywhere in the world who want to understand their child’s dental health and oral function.

Are your digital resources suitable for families outside Australia?

Yes. Our digital resources are designed to support parents globally.
They focus on the principles of oral development, dental hygiene, breathing and functional health, which apply universally — no matter where you live.

My child has seen you before. Can I book a follow-up appointment?

Yes. If your child has had a consultation with me in the past, you’re welcome to book a Return Consultation. These sessions are designed for follow-up support, progress checks, updated strategies, new concerns or questions, and guidance on next steps. Return Consultations are available online for families across Australia.

If you’re unsure whether your child needs a full consultation or a shorter review, feel free to get in touch and I can help you decide.

How can I tell if my child is mouth breathing?

If your child snores, sleeps with their mouth open, or often wakes up tired, mouth breathing might be part of the picture.

What does “oral function” actually mean?

Oral function is how the muscles in the mouth and face move for things like breathing, chewing, swallowing, and speaking.
If something’s out of balance, it can affect dental growth, feeding, and even sleep.

We wish it were that easy! While we can’t provide personalised clinical advice via email, we can point you to the best next step or resource for your child.

Can you recommend local providers?
